The Driftwood Build Process
From Reservation to Rifle
Every Driftwood rifle is built to order. Our configurations are carefully selected starting points, then refined around how you intend to carry, shoot, and use the rifle.
1. Choose Your Rifle
Start by exploring the Driftwood rifle line. Each model begins with a specific role rather than a list of features.
Rancher is the modern ranch rifle. Flint is the compact utility rifle. Mustang is the modern scabbard rifle. Varmint is the working rimfire. Latigo is the refined sporting rimfire.
2. Reserve Your Build
Visit the Build page for your chosen rifle and select the configuration that’s closest to what you’re looking for. During checkout, you’ll create a Driftwood Western account where your build preferences and project information will be saved throughout the build process.
You will not be charged at this stage. Reserving your build simply places it into our production queue and gives us the baseline information needed to begin the process.
Every Driftwood rifle begins with one of our carefully curated standard configurations. Final pricing may vary depending on custom options, component availability, and customer-requested upgrades. We’ll review your build with you and confirm the final configuration and price before any work begins.
If the exact configuration you’re looking for isn’t shown, use the Custom Requests field or contact us directly. Every Driftwood rifle begins with a conversation.
3. Lock in the Build
We will contact you to review and finalize your build before assembly begins. Together, we’ll discuss your intended use, barrel configuration, suppressor compatibility, optics, finishes, accessories, and any special requests to ensure every component supports the rifle’s intended purpose.
Once those details are finalized, we’ll prepare a complete build sheet outlining your rifle’s configuration and final price. We’ll send it to you for review and approval, along with a deposit invoice.
Once you’ve approved the build sheet and your deposit has been received, your rifle enters production.
4. We Build the Rifle
Every Driftwood rifle is built around proven components selected because they improve reliability, accuracy, balance, or long-term serviceability.
Every rifle is assembled, inspected, test-fired, cleaned, and given a final quality inspection before leaving our shop. Once complete, we’ll send your final invoice and prepare the rifle for shipment. After final payment has been received, we’ll coordinate delivery to the FFL dealer of your choice.
Every Driftwood rifle is backed by our lifetime workmanship warranty.
5. FFL Transfer & Delivery
Federal law requires firearms to be transferred through a licensed FFL dealer. If you don’t already have a preferred FFL dealer, we’re happy to help you locate one. We coordinate shipment with your selected dealer and provide tracking information when your rifle ships.
6. Support After the Sale
Delivery is not the end of the relationship. We're available to help with maintenance, optics, suppressor setup, accessories, future upgrades, and warranty support.
Every Driftwood rifle begins with a conversation.
Most customers begin with a standard configuration and make only a few changes. Others start with an idea and build something entirely unique. Both approaches begin the same way—with a conversation. Tell us how you intend to use the rifle and we'll help identify the right platform and configuration.
