Tried & True — Flint Model

Grace

Compact .300 Blackout · Suppressed-first · Subsonic-focused field rifle.

Model Flint
Proven Build Grace

Grace is the rifle that established the Flint: a compact .300 Blackout built around suppressed use from the beginning, rather than treating the suppressor as an accessory.

The design priority is simple — keep the rifle short, quiet, and easy to handle, while maintaining dependable function with the heavy subsonic ammunition the Flint is intended to shoot most often. Every supporting component, from the gas system to the suppressor interface, was chosen to serve that same handful of priorities.

Current Configuration

Caliber / Chamber .300 AAC Blackout
Gas system RifleSpeed adjustable gas block, tuned for suppressed subsonic function
Bolt carrier group SIONICS NP3-coated BCG, with a Forward Control Design witness-mark cam pin
Recoil system Standard carbine buffer spring with an H2 buffer
Suppressor Dead Air Nomad 30, on a Plan B mounting interface
Stock B5 Systems Bravo collapsible stock, with a MultiTasker M:4 tool stored in the buttpad compartment

Why It Works

Short .300 Blackout architecture
Grace keeps the system genuinely compact while using a cartridge well suited to short barrels and suppressed operation.

RifleSpeed adjustable gas
The adjustable gas system gives the rifle useful control over suppressed subsonic function, instead of forcing one fixed gas setting to handle every load.

Suppressor-first
The Nomad 30, muzzle interface, gas setting, recoil system, and overall balance were treated as one system from the beginning, not assembled around the suppressor after the fact.

Field-ready furniture
The B5 Bravo stock keeps the rifle adjustable and packable, with a MultiTasker tool built into the buttpad so basic maintenance travels with the rifle.

What We’ve Proven

50 yards, suppressed subsonic
Across five subsonic loads tested, average groups ran roughly 0.7″–1.1″ (about 1.3–2.1 MOA).

Best observed group
Approximately 0.26″, with Sig Sauer OTM Subsonic 220gr; Hornady Sub-X 190gr was similarly consistent.

Subsonic function
After gas-system tuning, subsonic loads reliably locked the bolt back in the RifleSpeed 4–6 setting range.

These are observed development results, not guarantees.

Built to Evolve

Grace established the relationships that matter most in a Flint: short .300 Blackout geometry, suppressor-first balance, controllable gas, and dependable subsonic function.

Later Flints may use different handguards, barrels, suppressors, or supporting hardware when those changes preserve or improve the same system behavior.
