Tried & True — Rancher Model
Stevie
14.5″ · .223 Wylde · Suppressed-first · General-purpose field rifle.

| Model | Rancher |
| Proven Build | Stevie |
Stevie began as a capable off-the-shelf AR and became the development rifle that established the Rancher. We refined it one system at a time, keeping the changes that materially improved accuracy, handling, balance, or usefulness in the field.
The result is a lightweight, suppressed-first field rifle built around a Criterion CORE barrel, useful magnified glass, and a deliberately restrained setup. Stevie has worked well through several furniture, recoil-system, and carrier configurations — the Proven Build is the architecture, not one immutable list of part numbers.

Why It Works
Criterion CORE, 14.5″
Compact enough for truck and field handling while retaining the shootability needed for the Rancher's useful field envelope.
Suppressor-first
Suppressor weight, balance, interface, and recoil behavior are considered as part of the rifle from the start.
Useful magnification
The Vudu 4–12×36 supports the distances Stevie is actually intended to cover, rather than optimizing solely for minimum optic size or weight.
Balanced field furniture
Furniture is chosen for handling, balance, and Western character without sacrificing function.
What We’ve Proven
100 yards
Hornady Black 62gr — average approximately 1.13″, best approximately 0.64″. PMC X-Tac 55gr — average approximately 1.32″.
Working accuracy standard
Approximately 1.5 MOA or better with appropriate ammunition.
Useful range
Roughly 350 yards for practical field use.
Tested weight
Approximately 7 lb 9 oz unsuppressed and 8 lb 9 oz suppressed, tested with the Vudu configuration.
These are observed development results, not guarantees.
Built to Evolve
Stevie has run successfully with collapsible and fixed furniture, matched carbine- and rifle-length recoil systems, and both SIONICS NP3 and WMD NiB-X carriers. Those comparisons helped identify which parts of the system materially matter — and which can vary without changing the rifle's character.
A commissioned Stevie preserves the proven relationships — barrel, balance, recoil system, suppressor-first setup, restrained handguard, and useful optic — without requiring every supporting component to remain identical forever.
